aboutLUKE
Luke was a lifelong patient at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. He had five open heart surgeries and 14 procedures in his 19 years. His first procedure was when he was two days old; it was a miracle he survived due to initial complications. Two days later, he had his first open heart surgery.
This was when Luke received his first gifts of blood. He received countless pints of blood during his life.
On the Friday after Thanksgiving 2016, Luke passed out suddenly after attending a Nashville Predators game with his family. He was rushed to Vanderbilt where they tried all night to bring him back, however they couldn't.
Luke led a robust life with friends, family and lots of fun. Luke loved the Predators, the outdoors, boating and kicking up mud in his truck. He was especially proud to have been made a full time employee at FedEx Freight.
